SCYTHIAN busting out the jigs and reels right outside my door!!!! The concert was amazing...even if I only got to see the last hour . These three guys are just a sample of our super cool Steubie U Alums. A bunch of the Fedoryka family was there with them, with neices and nephews bouncing off and on the stage and being tossed into the crowd. The music was awsome. It almost made up for missing Gaelic Storm in Pitt the first weekend I was here. They even sang a song just for me: I Will Go [to McLoud]!

Meet the Von Steuben Phamily - Nine orphans in the Ohio Valley

It's Parents weekend. But we nine are without parents. Yet we are not alone. Meet the Von Steuben Phamily: Christine, Yvonne (picture at right and below), Regina (making pie), Rosalie (that's the back of her head, below right), Elizabeth, Kyle, Nathan (see swordfighters), Steve, and Yours Truly. There are only three qualifications to be a part of our family, it seems. A) orphaned on parent's weekend B) if not entirely insane, at least an oddity among men and C) willing to be treated like a sibling, i.e, rivalry, revelry, punishment, and criticism, and a family...the whole picture; for such are our only commonalities.
Orphans who play together stay together.

Baby Fugi

I've a new nephew!! Francis Xavier Mamoru Fugikawa - boy, what a name! - was born on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 7th, weighing in at 7 lbs, 8 oz, 20 " and absolutely adorable from head to ten toes! Katherine had a really easy labor (comparatively, that is...I am not going to say any labor is easy - why would it be called 'labor'), especcially for the first time: she was holding baby Fugi less than three hours after being induced! God is SO Good!
